Looks like some Washoe County drivers still need to slow down and focus on the road, based on the number of citations issued by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office during a recent “Joining Forces” traffic safety campaign. From April 1st through April 15th, the Sheriff’s Office joined the Reno Police Department, Sparks Police Department and Nevada Highway Patrol for a high-intensity traffic enforcement campaign aimed at reducing distracted driving. Sheriff’s Office units assigned to this effort issued more than 675 citations, most citations were for cellphone use or speeding.
