The Sparks Police Department is looking a man who walked away from a group home in east Sparks on Sunday and into the desert. Police say 27-year-old Abel Valdivia, left the group home in the area of Culpeper Drive and Piero Court about 11:30 a.m. after becoming upset. Valdivia has diminished capacity. A staff member followed him as he walked up a hill and into the open desert, but then the staff member lost sight of him. Police describe him as Hispanic, about 6 feet tall, 280 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black pants and a green sweater over a red T-shirt.
