Carson River “Forks” Reach Flood Stage, Flood Watch Issued For Saturday

(KOH) – The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch in Douglas County effective from 1 p.m. Saturday through late Saturday night.

NWS’ Alex Hoon tells KOH that an area of low pressure moving into the region is expected to bring moderate to heavy rain through the evening. Both the East and West Fork reached flood stage Friday night.

Rivers, creeks, and streams have been running high throughout the week due to snow melt from recent warmth. Snow melt started Friday night, but Hoon says the cloud cover will likely slow any more snow melt for the rest of Saturday.
