In preparation for the upcoming wildland fire season, the Sparks Fire Department will be conducting its annual wildland refresher training Today, and also May 11th, and 13th near Golden Eagle Regional Park off the end of Hans Berry Road. The training will involve multiple agencies including the Sparks Fire Department, Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and the Bureau of Land Management. Washoe County Sheriff Office’s RAVEN helicopter will also be involved in the training on May 11. The training will focus on a multi-agency response to a simulated wildland fire including the use of overhead personnel, brush trucks, and aircraft.
