A bill gets a hearing today in the Assembly Judiciary committee that would force hospitals to give lower Medicare rates to seniors who have been in an accident when someone else is at fault. Instead, some hospitals, assuming the patient will sue the guilty party, are seeking a higher reimbursement by billing the victim, at the higher non Medicaid rate.
