Besides giving the green light to Apple’s billion dollar plans in the Reno area, the city council also moved to step out of the way of recreational marijuana shops. The council approved unanimously to beging the process toward getting recreational shops open starting July 1st. Reno expects to have at least four shops open, and more next year. An earlier proposal from city staff asking for more time to develop regulations and fees was rejected by the Council. Members say this is what the voters who approved recreational pot want.
