The shooting was justified. That’s the determination of  District Attorney Chris Hicks, of the shooting of a man who drove away from a traffic stop, into Reno’s downtown “Wing fest” last July. Raul Saavedra-Vargas died as a result of the shooting. The DA says the police action prevented a tragedy, and described the suspect as “Unhinged, potentially homicidal, and highly intoxicated.” The report concludes that due to Saavedra’s actions, the shooting officer clearly had a reasonable belief there was imminent danger.
