A 16-year-old was injured after being hit by a van driver early Monday morning. It happened just before 7 a.m. on Papa Bear Court near Aquamarine Drive in Cold Springs. Truckee Meadows Fire says the teen was walking in the middle of the street in a cul-de-sac when he was hit by the driver and dragged about 20 feet. The teen was taken to a hospital with moderate and non-life-threatening injuries, according to Washoe County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say it appears the driver’s windshield had frost on it and hadn’t been fully scraped, obscuring the driver’s vision. The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
