Hearing Over Ethics Controversy Involving Attorney General, Gaming Control Board Chief

A joint hearing last night in the legislature centered around an ethics controversy over a secretly recorded conversation between the current Gaming Control Board chief and the Attorney General. The conversation between Attorney General Adam Laxalt and Gaming Control Board Chief A-G Burnett took place in March of last year and concerned a wrongful termination suit against Las Vegas gaming giant Sheldon Adelson and his Sands corporation. Burnett eventually took the recording to the FBI. They determined no crime had been committed. While some lawmakers say the situation is a conflict of interest, others say the controversy is a political witch hunt.
