Two brush fires were contained over the weekend. Crews from Truckee Meadows Fire knocked out a three acre fire in Verdi near Leventina Canyon Road, and crews from Reno Fire and the US Forest Service assisted, and the Raven Helicopter dropped water on the fire. A fire near Pyramid lake scorched about 30 acres Sunday night, but was contained about an hour after it was reported. No structures were threatened.
