Sparks Will Collect Sandbags as Flood Risks Ease

City of Sparks has set up five sandbag drop-off locations for people to get rid of the sandbags leftover from this wet winter and spring. The city says it’s safe to drop-off sandbags because the Truckee River is now below flood status and flows are expected to continue to decrease. Drop them of at  855 Linda Way,  Larkin Circle next to Pick-n-Pull,  Spice Island Drive by Cottonwood Park, the North Lot of Shadow Mountain Park on Sparks Boulevard, and at the corner of Kresge and Watson behind the former K-Mart Distribution Center. While the threat of flooding is decreasing, the Truckee River is still running very fast and cold.
