Neighbors turned out to protest, but the Washoe County Planning Commission voted to approve a tentative map for a new subdivision along the Mount Rose highway. The Ascente complex would add 225 homes at the end of Fawn Lane. Opponents say the subdivision would transform the area’s scenic landscape, and would present a series of ecological, environmental, and seismic issues.
