The Reno Fire Department were called to a brush fire near Cashill Blvd last night just after 7 o’clock. Crews found about an acre of grass and brush on fire with flames moving down the canyon towards homes. The fire was being pushed by approximately 25 mph down canyon winds. First arriving units found three houses that were immediately threatened by the fire. The blaze was knocked down around 10pm, No homes or structures were damaged.
Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and other crews have contained a 10 acre brush fire in the foothills above Damonte Ranch. Flames from the Sage Hill Fire were first reported Wednesday evening at about 8 o’clock. No word on a cause.
