A fire near Drayer Lane in Fernley Saturday burned 22 acres of sagebrush and grass before being contained around 4pm. The fire was reported just after noon and crews started the attack on what was then a 1/2 acre fire, but it quickly escalated. Some homes were threatened but none were damaged, and no one was injured. Multiple agencies fought the fire, including North Lyon and Central Lyon Fire, NDF, BLM, Mason Valley Fire, Storey County and Truckee Meadows. Lyon County Manager Jeff Page reports that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
