Sparks Police arrested a man  Monday morning for allegedly threatening a woman with a gun. It happened on the 1000 block of 10th Street. Police met with a woman who told them she had been arguing with 41-year-old Cory Spear of Sparks, who pointed a handgun at her and threatened to kill her if she didn’t leave. The woman told police she and her son left and called police. Officers surrounded the house and ordered Spear to come out with his hands up, but he refused, demanding a sheriff’s deputy be present first. Spear came out once the Washoe County deputy arrived, and was arrested.  Spear is charged with assault with a deadly weapon. The victim received treatment from paramedics at the scene.
