A group of independent liquor wholesalers say the marijuana law passed by voters makes it clear they’re the only ones who can retail it. State lawyers tried to persuade a Carson City judge to dismiss the lawsuit and allow existing medical marijuana dispensaries to serve as their own middlemen in recreational sales. The judge refused, the hearing on thse issues is Monday. The state budget depends on recreational marijuana sales starting July 1st. The state Department of Taxation moved on to grant recreational licences to medicinal sellers, because of foot dragging by the liquor distributors.
