Three woman serving time in the Carson City jail, “Trustees” who were tasked with cleaning the Carson City Sheriff’s office on weekends, are charged with several felonies after allegedly stealing prescription drugs from the Sheriff’s drop box, and giving them out to other inmates.  Kayla Lynn Newman, Kyra Jean Mammen and Desiree Cathy-Rose Belmont were caught earlier this week. Sheriff’s investigators say Mammen took tongs from a kitchen area, that she’s suspected of using to access the drugs inside the box. Then the women smuggled the drugs inside their body cavities. One of the women had to be hospitalized, so the drugs inside her could be retrieved. The three women face numerous felony charges including furnishing drugs to prisoners.
