One More Shot For the Group Trying to Rebuild The Moana Pool

The group looking to rebuild the Moana pool has one more shot to raise the funds. The Reno City Council voted to extend a lease set to expire next month. With a unanimous vote, the council agreed to give non-profit Sierra Nevada Community Aquatics a three-year extension for the development of Moana Springs Aquatic Center. The group formed in 2007 after the former Moana pool was closed and later demolished. An agreement between the city and the group to rebuild the pool has been in place since 2012, but so far nothing has been built and the group has already had one lease extension.
