The Garson fire, which broke out Sunday, was 50% contained by Monday afternoon, and no longer threatens a handful of of homes in the Quilici Ranch Road area. Reno Fire Chief Dave Cochran says hand crews continue building fire lines. NV Energy says power has been restored to the 3,000 customers who were without power at one point during the firefight. So far, crews have managed to keep the fire away from structures and homes. The fire was started by target shooters, and has burned more than 125 acres.
