The woman killed in a head on crash at Cave Rock Monday afternoon, was 52-year-old Sranthon Bunnag of Thailand. NHP says preliminary investigation indicates a VW Passat was being driven eastbound around a curve, and the driver crossed over the double yellow lines and into westbound traffic. The driver hit a Chrysler minivan that was headed westbound around the same curve. There were six people in the minivan. The right front passenger, died from her injuries. The driver and four other passengers were taken to a South Lake Tahoe hospital with what troopers say are non-life-threatening injuries. The Passat driver was taken to a Reno hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, she is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol. When she is released from the hospital, she will be booked into the Douglas County jail.
