The Reno Police Department has added a new line of defense during public events downtown. They’re installing barriers to stop drivers from accessing South Virginia, including for this weekend’s Wing Fest.  Last year, a man who was evading officers managed to drive his minivan onto South Virginia during the event, and into one of the vendor booths. With heightened security across the country, Reno PD’s Tim Broadway says the more secure an event is, the safer it is for their team, and visitors.  The barriers are being placed from 2nd to 5th Street.
