Reno drivers rank as the 19th safest in the nation, nine spots below 2016, according to a report by USA Today and Allstate. Reno drivers, on average, are 7.7 percent less likely to get into a collision than the national average, they go 10.8 years between accidents, and they experience 17.5 hard-braking events every thousand miles. The rankings released in advance of July 4th, which Allstate says is the deadliest day to be on the road. For 2017, the three safest cities are Kansas City, Kansas; Brownsville, Texas; and Madison, Wisconsin
