Some Insurance Carriers Leaving Nevada’s Rural Counties

Uncertainty over the Senate’s Health Care bill is being blamed for the withdrawal of all insurance carriers offering Affordable Care Act subsidized health plans, in most of rural Nevada’s counties including Carson and Douglas. Governor Sandoval released a statement saying the reduced insurance footprint will leave more than 8,000 Nevadan’s with no coverage, and he calls that unacceptable. The Silver State Health Exchange blames the proposed elimination of the individual mandate for creating an unstable market. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto says the Trump administrations “Sabotage” of the ACA must stop.
