About 100 Bureau of Land Management firefighters are battling a wildfire south of Battle Mountain, that started around 6 Wednesday evening, quickly blowing up into a 300 acre inferno. The fire is near Mill Creek Canyon which has led to the evacuation of the Mill Creek Campground. The BLM reports the fire does threaten private land and structures. BLM staff is contacting homeowners in the area and people who have grazing permits.
