The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and the Bureau of Land Management are fighting a wildfire burning between Wadsworth and Nixon, three miles north of I-80. Nevada Division of Forestry is also on scene. The Truckee Fire was reported around 6:19 a.m. Monday, July 3rd. There is no containment.  Sierra Front reports the fire has burned 1500-1800 acres. Structure protection is in place for ranches. The cause has not been determined.
