The Nevada Department of Transportation wants to celebrate the opening of the newest section of the Carson City Freeway by letting you walk, bike, or run on the new stretch of road July 22nd between 9am and noon. It’s a chance to see the work up close before it opens to traffic. Take 580 or Fairview, and then follow the signs to the parking area. Animals are not allowed, unless they’re service animals. Around 43,000 vehicles are expected to use the new southern section of freeway by 2035.
