Repaving Work on Alternate 95 Next Week, Expect Delays

Drivers can expect delays of up to a half hour next week in Silver Springs due to a $7.6 million N-DOT construction project. The delay will be at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Alternate U.S. 95 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. July 17 to July 19.  The Nevada Department of Transportation is repaving about 11 miles of Alternate U.S. 95 between Silver Springs and Royal Oaks Drive south of Fernley. So far, 11 miles of two-lane highway has been milled and recycled in preparation for 53,000 tons of new pavement. New passing lanes have been installed, slopes flattened for safety and guardrails have been replaced.
