Family Doctor Pleads Guilty in Pill Mill Case

He had maintained his innocence for more than a year, but Monday Dr. Robert Rand pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter charges in the death of a patient, Michael Yenick, who overdosed on prescription narcotics. He also admitted supplying narcotics to a local “Pill Mill” Dr. Rand had faced a possible life sentence if he had been convicted of a long list of felony charges, related to Reno’s “Pill Mill” case. All those charges have been dropped as part of the plea deal. Eight other defendants, including the accused ringleader, Richard West the 2nd, have already pleaded guilty. Sentencing for Rand will be October 23rd.
