Progress Stopped on Multiple Fires Around The Region

Fire management officials with the U-S Forest Service say the Farad fire that burned along Interstate 80 last week has been fully contained at 747 acres. Mop up crews wrapped up work on Saturday. There is no word yet what caused the fire, which started July 10th.

Bureau of Land management investigators say a truck towing a trailer was responsible for the Cold Springs Fire. The fire was contained Saturday after burning 1,523 acres. Fire officials believe that sparks from the truck may have started at least seven fires over a half-mile stretch of 395. Officials have, so far, been unable to identify the driver of the truck.

The Draw Fire which started 50 miles east of Fallon is now 100% contained. The 27,000-acre wildfire remains under investigation. Crews will remain on scene mopping through this morning, and patrolling the area for at least the next 24 hours.

Truckee Meadows Fire management is saying the Brenda Fire has been 100 percent contained at 632 acres. Crews are currently mopping up. The fire started mid afternoon last Friday east of Eastlake Boulevard. U-S 395 alternate and Eastlake Boulevard were closed during the fire, but are now open.
