A Silver Springs murder suspect has been missing since June 30 and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office asks for the public’s help finding him. 45 year old Santiago “Sonny” Fernandez, is white, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and 195 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Fernandez works in construction and last showed up for work June 28th. A vehicle he drove was found in the Silver Springs area and that led to a Silver Springs home, and investigators believe he may be in danger, based on evidence at the home. He also drives a late 1990s or early 2000s Chevrolet or GMC green pickup; it has a white sticker on the back window in the shape of a skull with a bandana partially covering the face. Fernandez was free on $500,000 bail after being charged with open murder for the 2016 death of Robert Buchanan III at a gas station in Silver Springs. A court hearing had been set for July 17.
