Long Valley Fire North of Reno is Now 91% Contained

The Long Valley Fire north of Reno/Sparks is now 91-percent contained. Fire crews have stopped the fires growth at about 84,000 acres. The fire, which started near Doyle California July 11th, could be fully contained by Sunday.

The Oil Well Fire in Elko County has been fully contained at 7,500 acres. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A car pulled over onto dry cheat grass is being blamed for starting the Grass Valley Fire. So far it’s burned nearly 12-thousand south of Winnemucca. Crews have been making progress and say the fire is now 88-percent contained.
