A Reno man has been sentenced to life in prison for victimizing a 12 year old Reno girl over the course of three years. The defendant previously pleaded guilty
to lewdness charges involving a child under age 14 after an investigation by the Reno Police Department Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit. The sentence ensures that 22 year old Luis Velasco-Canales will serve a minimum of 20 years in the Nevada Department of Corrections before parole eligibility begins.
