East Fork Fire Protection District says a lightning-sparked wildfire broke out near Gardnerville early this morning. The Preacher fire has already burned nearly a hundred acres near the Preachers Mine, just off of Pinenut Road. According to officials, no homes are threatened.

A brush fire in Washoe Valley, burning near the site of last year’s Little Valley Fire, is being fought by the Truckee Meadows Fire Department. They say the lightning sparked fire is not threatening any homes, and is burning in a remote location. They plan to hit the fire from the air this morning.
