At the request of the U.S. Forest Service, one Nevada Air National Guard C-130 aircraft will deploy Saturday to support firefighting efforts in central California.  The Nevada Air National Guard’s activation as a firefighting surge capacity for the U.S. Forest Service could last up to one month, depending on the need for assets fighting fires threatening life and property and blowing smoke into the northern Nevada region.
