Dean Heller took his shot with an amendment to preserve Medicaid expansion funds for states, now Senator Catherine Cortez Masto will try. Her amendment would remove any language that proposes medicaid cuts from the senate bill. Cortez-Masto says this would protect hundreds of thousands of low income families, women, seniors, children, veterans and people with disabilities. Heller’s amendment was shot down 90-10, Cortez Masto’s may get a few more votes, but is unlikely to win a majority in the senate.
