(KOH) – Debate is once again front-and-center as the planning stages of a huge wild horse roundup are underway in northeastern and eastern Nevada. The Bureau of Land Management is asking for public comment prior to over 6,700 horses being removed between Wells and Ely. The BLM says the wild horse complexes in the area can only provide enough food and water for around 1,700 horses. The proposed roundup comes after the federal land management chief in Nevada and Gov. Brian Sandoval called for removing 4,000 horses from the region.
