The wildfire in the Whites Creek and Dry Creek Trailhead area southwest of Reno has now burned an estimated 50 acres as of about 430pm Tuesday August 1st. Structure protection firefighters are now on scene, as some residences are considered threatened. Truckee Meadows fire is asking people to stay away from Mt Rose near Galena creek, and drivers can expect road closures. The White Creek Trailhead and Galena Creek park are closed, as is Timberline at Mr Rose Highway. There are no current evacuations.
