Sen Cortez-Masto, Dems Lay Out Tax Reform Priorities

Catherine Cortez Masto joined her democratic colleagues to outline what they think a bipartisan tax reform package should look like. They laid out three principals, first they believe tax reform should not increase the tax burden on the middle class, shouldn’t just benefit the wealthy. They say tax reform legislation should go through regular order, and not a reconciliation or fast track approach. And third, they say tax reform should actually focus on providing a revenue base that meets the needs of the country, arguing that deep cuts to corporate, individual and other tax rates are very costly. Democrats say they will not support tax cuts that add to the deficit of endanger Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
