The Minerva Fire Continues to Send Smoke Into Northern Nevada

The Minerva Fire, the latest to send smoke pouring into Northern Nevada, has burned 1,050 acres since starting the morning of July 29th. The fire was 15% contained as of Monday afternoon, according to the US Forest Service. Full containment is predicted August 12th Air support is helping fire crews battling the Minerva Fire, southwest of Quincy. About 18 hundred firefighters are on the lines. There are no evacuations and no word yet on a cause.
