(KOH) – County officials in Las Vegas say they have proof that they’re not a “sanctuary city.” Assistant US Attorney General Alan Hanson sent a letter saying the Department of Justice “found no evidence that Clark County is out of compliance” with federal immigration laws. Neither the county nor City of Las Vegas has declared itself a sanctuary city, and both have regularly insisted they comply with all applicable laws. County Spokesman Erik Pappa says the county is hopeful that a $976,000 grant they were awarded in 2016 will now be released.
