Fire officials believe a fire that burned 42 acres yesterday evening in the Hungry Valley area was human-caused. The Hungry Valley Fire broke out around 5:30 in the area of Chickadee Drive and Hungry Valley Road. Air and ground resources responded from the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and from the Bureau of Land Management. Fire officials say a few residences were threatened at one point, but no structures were damaged. Forward progress has been stopped and crews are now in mop up mode.
