Traffic trying to enter Sand Harbor beach in the mornings is causing problems, particularly on weekends. The NHP reports, drivers are stopping on Nevada 28 backing traffic up into Incline Village and causing long delays. For drivers heading south on Nevada 28, this causes frustration and some cross the double yellow lines into the northbound lanes to drive south, which has led to near-collisions and could result in a fatal crash. NHP is reminding drivers it is illegal to stop on the highway and it is illegal to cross over the double yellow lines. Drivers are not allowed to stop and wait for the park to open. The NHP will start increasing patrols in the area each morning, and will cite drivers for impeding traffic.
