The fire in the Six Mile Canyon area east of Virginia City is 35 percent contained, according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center. The active part of the fire has been knocked down and firefighters are making good progress. Fire retardant lines seem to be holding. The fire is still reported to be 150 to 200 acres, as of 6pm Friday.
