Reno Police want to thank the protesters who came out for the President’s visit for staying calm, and not causing a disturbance in the biggest little city. RPD’s Tim Broadway says as part of their outreach, they get together with protest groups beforehand, so there’s ground rules and a relationship between both parties, and can help to diffuse a a potentially tense situation.  RPD hopes other cities to take notice of the demonstrators in Reno, as an example set for future protests across the country.
