Truckee Meadows Fire crews have knocked out a fire along Winnemucca Ranch Road, just west of Pyramid Highway between Sparks and Pyramid Lake. It started shortly before noon Thursday, at a behind-a-home dog kennel with three dogs inside; all dogs were rescued and are okay. The kennel is a total loss; no other structures were damaged and no injuries reported. No cause has been determined. The fire spread into the wildland and burned about five acres.
