The Sparks Police Department has arrested a man on suspicion he stabbed someone Wednesday. 22-year-old Freddy Marquez, of Sparks was booked into the Washoe County jail on suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon. Police say the victim in the stabbing hailed a Sparks police officer at the intersection of Prater Way and Pyramid Way about 11:24 pm on Wednesday. Police identified Marquez as a suspect and arrested him Thursday. The victim is recovering in the hospital and is in stable condition.
