(KOH) – The University of Nevada is growing and it’s becoming harder and harder to keep up with students’ housing needs. One student complex across from Lawlor wasn’t ready for the start of the semester, and the company is trying its best to make up for it.
The complex called Identity Reno was scheduled to be open by Aug 24, just in time for move-in for the fall semester. Hundreds of students were ready to move in, and weren’t too happy when they couldn’t The company is compensating for the inconvenience by offering students the choice between a $200 Visa gift card per day for expenses such as alternate housing, food, and transportation, or $100 per day and a free room at Circus Circus. Some students stand to get thousands, as some upper levels aren’t scheduled to open until Sep 22. Identity is providing free storage, and also plans to provide move-in assistance when the apartments are open.
