The winners of the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cookoff have been announced, and first place for 2017 goes to the Chicago BBQ Company from Burr Ridge, Illinois. They’ll take home bragging rights and a big check for $10,000. Uncle Bub’s placed second, and wins $5,000, and third place this year goes to Aussom Aussie. Rounding out the top five in fourth place is local caterer Carson City BBQ, followed up by Austin’s Texas Lightning in fifth. Uncle Bub’s also wins the best sauce category, and a $500 dollar prize. The People’s Choice winner this year…Back Forty Texas BBQ from PLeasant Hill California. Plans are already in place for the 30th annual Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off in 2018, scheduled for Wednesday, August 29th through Monday, September 3rd.
