A jail inmate who walked away from a work crew Wednesday morning has been captured according to the Washoe County Sheriffs Office. 21-year-old Irving Hernandez was caught Thursday afternoon at about 5:30 near Sutro Street and Selmi Drive. He had been on an inmate crew at Paradise Park, and walked off the site about 10:45AM Wednesday. Bernice Mathews Elementary School was on a precautionary code yellow lockdown because of the search. Hernandez was caught in a joint effort from Secret Witness, Washoe Sheriff detectives, ATAC, regional gang unit and Northern Nevada Regional Intelligence Center.
