There are a number of events happening around the region honoring the victim’s of 9/11. The Silver Legacy is holding a ‘Patriot’s Day’ Memorial at noon between the buffet and cafe on the mezzanine. You’re encouraged to wear red, white, and blue. There’s also the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance hosted by the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation. They have events between 9 and noon, at the Sparks Marina, Wood Trail Park, and 530 Fourth Street in Sparks. A ceremony is planned for Fernley at 10am at the ‘Out of Town’ park on Farm District Road. And United Blood Services is holding their annual Heroes Remembered blood drive at South Virginia and Peckham.
